Just wanted to make you all aware of the fact that Iowa legalized gay marriage today, making it the third state in the U.S. (along with Massachusetts and Connecticut) to allow same sex couples to get married.
Full article from MSNBC is here http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30027685/.
Also, if anyone is interested in registering for Queer Youth Advocacy Day 2009, a youth summit in Sacramento focused on combating homophobia for both LGBT youth and straight allies, you want to go online and register here: www.eqcai.org/qyad2009
Free transportation is possible for those who register soon, so if you're interested it'd be good to register as quickly as possible.
And just to put it out there, there are two LGBT youth groups that meet weekly; one is in Riverside, but the Center OC is right here in Orange County. They meet every week on Wednesdays from 7-8:30 PM. I've gone to a meeting, as have a couple of the officers, and they're some pretty cool people. If you're interested, their website is www.thecenteroc.org.
Thanks to Gabriel Forthal for providing this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u95a3Kp8lkg; a moving speech by a Vermont gay youth activist who speaks out on the gay marriage issue.
And that's all for this week!
